Tōhi Bōheki — Scalp Barrier

A salon-grade system, not a retail product.

The scalp is treated as a living substrate with a barrier to maintain — not a surface to be perfumed. The serum is calibrated to support the scalp's own equilibrium across the service interval.

Function is preventative. The intent is to keep the scalp condition steady so the in-salon work is not undone by environmental and lifestyle load between visits.

Indicated substrate.

Diagnostic markers for which the system performs predictably. Assessment is conducted by the technician at the basin and on the client card.

  • C.01

    Sensitive scalp

Reactive, easily irritated or environmentally stressed.

  • C.02

    Disturbed barrier

Comfort drift, mild discomfort, or post-service tenderness.

  • C.03

    Maintenance scalp

Stable scalp under preventative care between appointments.

Where the system sits.

  1. T.01

Closing step of the homecare prescription, applied to towel-dry scalp.

  2. T.02

Designed to support — not reset — the barrier on each application.

  3. T.03

Carrier compatible with the cleansing and conditioning sequence prescribed upstream.

In the chair.

  • 01

Prescribed after in-salon scalp-led services and as part of a maintenance routine for sensitive substrates.

  • 02

Recommended for clients with environmental or lifestyle scalp load (sport, travel, urban exposure).

  • 03

Reassessed at each in-salon scalp diagnostic; cadence adjusted on evidence.

Between appointments.

  1. H.01

Applied directly to the scalp on the indicated cadence — not on lengths.

  2. H.02

Massage application; no rinse. Function is barrier support, not cleansing.

  3. H.03

Discontinued or rotated based on the scalp condition recorded at the next appointment.
